Why I Chose Animas
I chose Animas because I went to Mountain Middle School and I liked the project based style. I was originally planning on going to DHS, but after shadowing at Animas I changed my mind immediately. I also shadowed at DHS thinking that it would again sway my decision, but I was dead wrong. I didn’t get to see any of the classes I wanted to take and it ended up being very boring. As a learner I’ve found over the years that I’m a hands on learner, so Animas was the perfect school for me. In elementary school it was a very traditional school with test almost every week. We would sit at our desks being talked at and forgetting the information right afterwards. Mountain was great in 6th and 7th grade I learned so much and really enjoyed it. 8th grade was really bad though. Science which was my favorite subject was ruined by a mediocre teacher. However, humanities was pretty good it became my best subject. While my last year at mountain wasn’t great, my overall experience was very good. Math has always been something that I’ve never liked and my previous schools didn’t help me, hopefully this year that will change. I hope this year and the years to come at Animas will be the best schools years I’ve had.
