I had two internships that I was interested in (CSI or Epidemiology). I decided that PT was not something I was super interested in so I scrapped the idea. When I emailed the CSI I was worried that it wouldn't work out because I was a high school student, so I went with the Epidemiologist. After a week of trying to confirm my internship with the Epidemiologist, the CSI emailed me back saying I could do an internship with her. I was stuck trying to decided which one I should do and how do I tell the other I was going in another direction. I ended up going with the CSI and I spoke with the Epidemiologist about doing some work in the summer. I hope I find that this internship will lead to me finding what I want to do for a career. I also hope I can be helpful and learn at this internship so my mentor doesn't feel like I'm in the way.

I really enjoyed my LINK and honestly didn't want to go back to school. I got to work for three weeks with a CSI at the Farmington Police Department. During this journey I got to go to crime scenes and help process evidence. This was an incredible experience and it defiantly is something I'd like to do in the future. I've already started looking at colleges with forensics programs and I intend to email their soccer coaches for potential recruitment.
I'm stoked because I have three email drafts I've completed for three different ideas. One is to work with a crime scene investigator with the Farmington Police Department. The other is to work with an Epidemiologist at San Juan Basin Health. The last one is with any Physical Therapist who will take me. I just need someone to review it before I send them. Hopefully one of the ideas works out.
I'm really excited about LINK. I have a lot of fun options that all pertain to something I want to do. My first idea is to work with a forensic technician or crime scene specialist. Another thing I want to do is physical therapy or something like that in sports medicine. I am nervous about finding an internship in time or at all. I'm also worried about how I can get enough hours and make it to soccer practice. Other than that I can't wait to do my internship.
